About Sci-Fi Book Name Generator
Science fiction titles should hint at a system: a delay, a habitat, a law. This page locks Science Fiction and aims for titles that could sit beside Le Guin or Chiang in spirit — concrete, a little strange — without xeroxing Dune or Star Wars.
How to use it
- List the constraint and one image (radio delay, ice moon, vote, nets).
- Say literary vs adventure so length and punctuation match.
- Reject titles that are just “The [Ship] of [War].”
- Check that the title does not name a franchise-famous spice or weapon.
Examples
Input
geologist, radio delay, ice moon
What you get
A title that implies distance and a question, not a laser.
Input
citizenship, failing spin, maintenance crew
What you get
Institutional nouns; human-scale.
Input
fishing platform, something in the nets
What you get
Domestic first-contact energy, not an armada.
SF titles with a hypothesis
Noun + constraint
If you can add “because of X physics” under the title, you are close.
Avoid the sand-and-messiah shelf
Unless you are writing that book, stay off prophecy diction.
Acronyms are a last resort
A title that must be explained at a party is working too hard.
Avoid
- Wars / Trek sentence rhythms.
- Random Greek letters as profundity.
