About Romance Book Outline Generator
A romance outline is a calendar of distance: when they meet, when they cannot leave, when trust breaks, when it is rebuilt. Lock Romance and the generator will try to give you chapter jobs that force the couple into the same rooms.
How to use it
- Logline with two people and the machine that keeps them together (job, house, storm, family).
- Pick novel for dual POV or multiple set pieces; novella for one location.
- Check that the midpoint is a relational door slamming, not only a fired boss.
- Make sure the last two chapters are not both “they talk.” One should be a choice with a cost.
Examples
Input
Novel · Rival captains, one route, one storm season.
What you get
Chapters clustered around crossings; dark moment is a route they will not share.
Input
Novella · Academic and carpenter, thirty days, one kitchen.
What you get
Day-based sections; no kidnapping required.
Input
Novel · Bakery, ex, health inspector as clock.
What you get
External deadline chapters braided with memory chapters you can cut if they stall.
Romance chapter jobs
Proximity on purpose
If a chapter can happen with them in different cities, it is probably not earning its keep.
Dual POV is a rhythm
If you want both, say so in the logline so the outline alternates for a reason.
Spice is not a chapter job unless you say so
Intimacy can be a turn. A string of unmarked heat chapters is a pacing leak.
Avoid
- Third-act breakup with no setup chapter.
- A subplot wedding that belongs to another book.
