About Sci-Fi Book Outline Generator
A science fiction outline should escalate a constraint: air, law, climate, signal delay. Lock Science Fiction, give a logline, and get chapters that make the system worse on purpose — so you do not spend the middle third on a new planet you do not need.
How to use it
- Logline with the constraint and the person stuck in it.
- Choose length from how many systems you can actually dramatize.
- After generate, mark any chapter that only explains tech. Merge or cut.
- Keep the climax as a decision inside the system, not a sudden new weapon unless the premise is that weapon.
Examples
Input
Novella · Crew trapped during a citizenship vote.
What you get
Sections as vote phases + failing life support.
Input
Novel · A diplomat whose orders arrive a week late.
What you get
Chapters of acting on stale information; midpoint when she stops waiting.
Input
Novel · A medic treating both sides of a blockade.
What you get
Ethical clocks and supply clocks in alternation.
SF outlines that do not balloon
One new system per quarter
If every chapter introduces a technology, none of them get to hurt.
Worldbuilding is a chapter job only when it changes options
A tour of the engine room is optional. A tour that reveals a leak is not.
Scale last
If the outline suddenly goes galactic in chapter 18, ask whether chapter 8’s room was enough.
Avoid
- A mid-book planet hop that resets stakes.
- Info-dump prologues from a historian.
